Greece has more than 3000 islands for every taste. It is a little bit difficult to decide which island to choose for your summer's vacation. However before you decide there is a question that you have to answer. Ionian or Aegean islands? The answer is not to simple because these groups of islands have some differences between each other. The Ionian islands ,that traditionally called ''Eptanissa'' ,are located at the western coast line of central Greece. Ionian Islands are an island group comprising large and small islands. Zakynthos, Ithaca,Corfu, Kefalonia, Paxi and Kythira are the seven largest and most popular islands of the group, while Antikythira, Antipaxi, Ereikousa, Mathraki, Othonoi, Meganisi and Strofades are lesser-known smaller islands, which have a lot going for themselves. The climate, the beautiful mountains and beaches, the clear blue waters make them perfect for your next holiday.
At the other hand , Aegean islands and some of the worldwide famous islands like Mykonos and Santorini, and less famous but amazing like Milos, Delos, Syros, Naxos, Folegandros, Amorgos are also something unique but totally different that Ionian islands. There , the landscape is dry and wild without many trees, and the temperature is a little bit breeze from the local north wind ''Meltemi''. But also with lovely beaches, archeological sights, white or black sand from the volcanos, is ideal for young people. The villages and the towns of both ( Ionian and Aegean islands ), are impressive and something that you can find nowhere than Greece.
